Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move products and materials throughout the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including order pickers and pallet jacks, to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking tasks to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring that products are handled safely and securely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using the warehouse management system.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to OSHA safety standards.
- Assist in building pallets for shipping and ensure that all materials are organized for easy access.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or similar role in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification preferred; OSHA certification is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends if required.
