What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Eudia?
About Eudia:
Eudia is redefining the future of legal work with AI-powered Augmented Intelligence, enabling Fortune 500 legal teams to move faster, manage risk more effectively, and unlock new business value. Backed by $105M in Series A funding led by General Catalyst, we’re building a category-defining platform that blends AI-driven automation with human expertise, transforming legal from a cost center into a strategic growth driver.
At Eudia, we move fast. Unlike traditional enterprise software, our teams ship solutions in days, not months—delivering real impact for some of the world’s largest companies, including Cargill, Coherent, DHL, and Duracell. We’re solving one of the most complex, unsolved challenges in AI: bringing trust, accuracy, and security to legal automation.
We’re a team of builders, operators, and problem-solvers who are passionate about reshaping an industry that has long been resistant to change. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be challenged, take ownership from day one, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in AI and legal —we’d love to meet you.
About the Role:
As our first Accountant, you will play a foundational role in building the accounting function of the future. This is not a plug-and-play role—we're looking for a curious, systems-oriented operator who wants to design and scale a modern back office that supports fast growth, complex business models, and global operations. You’ll be responsible for implementing best-in-class accounting processes and preparing the company to scale through our next phases of growth—Series B and beyond. If you’ve ever dreamed of building a finance stack from scratch while working alongside world-class AI engineers, operators, and venture-backed founders—this is your moment.
\n- Own Core Accounting Operations: Build and own end-to-end accounting workflows including GL, AR/AP, revenue recognition, and month-end close.
- Lead Month-End Close Process: Execute and streamline monthly reporting, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals to reduce close timelines over time.
- Design Our Future-State Finance Stack: Help evaluate and implement accounting systems (e.g., ERP migration), close checklists, expense and billing tools, and internal controls.
- Support Internal and External Reporting: Prepare audit-ready financial statements, support investor reporting, participate in board deck prep, and collaborate with tax and audit partners.
- Enable Strategic Decision-Making: Ensure financial data accuracy to inform management decisions, forecasts, and cash runway insights in a rapidly scaling environment.
- A builder’s mindset—you’re excited to create a next-gen accounting stack
- Experience standing up or migrating ERP/accounting systems
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communicator who can interface with cross-functional teams, vendors, and investors
- Audit experience or readiness to work with external auditors and compliance teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience; CPA or on CPA track strongly preferred
- 8 years of progressive experience in accounting at a fast-paced startup or public accounting firm
- Strong understanding of US GAAP; experience with ASC 606 a plus
