Eugene Eye Care Associates PC is seeking an ambitious Optometrist to join our busy full-scope practice that serves the communities of Eugene, Springfield, and Cottage Grove, Oregon.

Patient Care
· Co-manage medical/surgical patients with the ophthalmologists
· Conduct patient exams within the scope of their license.
· Conduct emergency patient exams.
· Diagnose and treat ocular pathology, such as myopia, astigmatism, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and AMD.
· Provide contact lens exams and manage fittings in conjunction with tech support.
· .
· Oversee and conduct, when needed, diagnostic testing and analysis for patient care management.
· Inform patients of diagnostic test results
· Refer patients to optical as appropriate.
· Refer patients to ophthalmologists as appropriate
Administrative
· Utilize Practice Management and Electronic Health Record systems
· Address patient messages and resolve questions and concerns.
· Attends administrative and/or department meetings as identified by the practice
· Collaborate with administrative team to maximize efficiency and productivity
· Required to practice in all locations; Eugene, Springfield, Cottage Grove.
Leadership and Training
· Demonstrates practice core values in all interactions with patients, staff, and other providers.
· Provides ongoing support and training and to the practice’s technicians and scribes.
· Starting salary commensurate to experience plus opportunity for production bonus

· Doctorate of Optometry Degree (OD)
· Oregon State Optometry License
· Valid driver’s license and means to travel between clinic locations

· Visual Acuity. Good vision is essential for examining patients’ eyes, interpreting test results, and accurately diagnosing eye conditions. Optometrists need to assess fine details and spot abnormalities.
· Mobility and Stamina. Optometrists move between examination rooms, interact with patients, and perform eye measurements. Stamina is crucial during busy clinic hours.
· Fine Motor Skills. Adjusting equipment, handling small instruments, and performing delicate procedures require precise hand movements. Optometrists must be adept at using tools like ophthalmoscopes and tonometers.
· Communication Skills. Communication with patients, colleagues, and support staff is vital. Optometrists explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive measures.
· Posture and Ergonomics. Optometrists spend significant time sitting or standing during patient examinations. Proper posture and ergonomic adjustments prevent strain and discomfort.
· Attention to Detail. Accurate diagnosis and prescription depend on clinical, expert observation. Optometrists analyze visual fields, retinal images, and refractive errors.
· Adaptability. Optometry involves working with diverse patient populations, including children, elderly individuals, and those with special needs. Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
