Wage Range: $48,305 - $60,380 per year, depending on experience. NOTE: We offer many great benefits, including a 12% employer contribution to a retirement savings account after 2 years. Medical benefits are not currently included in our benefits package, though they will be implemented at some point in the next few years.

Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Eugene Family YMCA Senior Manager, Patterson Campus Tennis & Pickleball Center shall be responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining tennis and pickleball programming for members and community participants that the Eugene Family YMCA serves.
Essential Functions

Oversee logistics of all tennis and pickleball programs and activities, including compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program; scheduling and maintaining the tennis center; creating and scheduling the activities or events; and maintaining and/or updating program equipment for programs and activities

Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed

Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate; ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed

Responsible for assuring high standards of program quality and safety in accordance with YMCA safety and risk management policies

Follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual, emergency action plan, and other core Y policies and procedures documentation

Recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop and schedule all Tennis & Pickleball Center employees and volunteers. This includes day-to-day supervision as well as creation of a culture of achievement, relationship and belonging.

Motivate and engage Tennis & Pickleball Center employees and volunteers to increase retention and understanding of our Cause through regular staff meetings

Work closely with Tennis & Pickleball Pros to develop and implement cause-driven tennis and pickleball programming that promotes Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility for all ages

Research, implement and manage appropriate technology and business systems for operating a Tennis & Pickleball facility, keeping our Y on the cutting edge of programming and operations.

Provide excellent service to all members, staff, volunteers and guests. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner

Communicate with supervisor, members, staff, volunteers, and guests in a clear, concise and positive manner while using Listen First skills

Understands, supports and is committed to the YMCA cause and our role in the community as a leader in Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility

Play an active role in the annual campaign, recruiting campaigners and serving where needed on planning committees

Work closely with the Marketing & Communications staff on marketing/promotions to ensure consistent messaging around the Y as a cause-driven charitable organization

Work to ensure a diverse and inclusive culture at the Y

Work closely with the VP of Community Engagement to develop your departments annual budget; monitor and make adjustments as needed

Act as a positive role model while implementing YMCA character development and following the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect

Work weekend duty if needed and Y special events as needed

Purchase parts and supplies for department as needed and assist with coordination of equipment maintenance and repairs

Complete all required trainings as assigned by supervisor, by scheduled due date

Must maintain a current, valid Oregon driver’s license, a DMV driving record that meets YMCA standards, and evidence of insurability throughout entire term of employment

Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
-
At least 3-½ years of previous experience managing a sports or recreation facility; or managing similar programs
-
At least 2 years of previous experience supervising a team of employees
-
At least intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft business software, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous experience playing tennis or pickleball
-
Previous experience managing racket sports tournaments, leagues, competitions, mixers or other group programs
-
Previous experience with court reservation or other sports registration software systems

Previous experience working at a YMCA
-
Conversational fluency in Spanish
