Position Summary
The Knight Campus Senior Director of Core Facilities is responsible for providing leadership and supervision for the campus’ research core facilities, managing and supporting facility scientists and engineers, overseeing the operations of staffed and unstaffed core facilities and maker's spaces, and developing robust business procedures for each core. The director will work closely with Knight Campus leadership and user groups to ensure that the facilities meet the needs of internal and external users, develop long-term business plans for sustaining Knight Campus Core Facilities, and build and sustain a strong internal and external user base. In addition, the Senior Director will work with UO facilities personnel on installation and infrastructure projects.
The Knight Campus Senior Director of Core Facilities is a full-time position that reports to the Associate Vice President for Research. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in research core facilities management
- Experience in leadership, staff supervision, financial planning, and business development
