Ultrasound Technologist
Position Overview
Support veteran healthcare services by providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in Chicago, IL. This role directly impacts veteran patient care through performing ultrasound examinations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Contract Details :
Location : Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (North Chicago, IL)
Position Type : Full-time (40 hours / week, Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
Perform a broad range of diagnostic ultrasound scans including general, vascular, breast, and other specialized examinations
Document patient care and examination results in VA electronic health record systems
Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any malfunctions
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members
Process and prepare images for interpretation
Follow VA / FHCC policies and procedures for patient privacy and information security
Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Qualifications
Required :
ARRT-US license or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification
Minimum 1 year experience performing general and vascular ultrasound examinations
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer literacy for electronic health record documentation
Must obtain and maintain VA PIV card and network access
Experience with Oracle / Cerner Electronic Health Record system (Preferred)
Prior experience in a VA or federal healthcare setting (Preferred)
