Application Engineer

Job Description

EV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time Application Engineer for one of our partners, a market-leading manufacturer of electric vehicle charging solutions. In this position, you will serve as a technical liaison between sales teams and customers, supporting the implementation of cutting-edge EV charging infrastructure while ensuring optimal system integration and compatibility.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead interoperability testing and validation of EV charging systems, including OCPP 1.6 / 2.0.1 protocols and vehicle compatibility standards (DIN70121 and ISO15118)
• Provide technical expertise during pre-sales and post-sales activities, including product specifications, installation planning, and system commissioning
• Conduct systematic troubleshooting using data mining, log analysis, and performance testing to resolve complex technical issues
• Support RFI / RFP processes by reviewing technical specifications and contributing to product positioning strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and operations to ensure successful project delivery
• Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and various locations to provide technical support and represent the company

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in application engineering, preferably in electrical or power electronics industries

Demonstrated knowledge of communication protocols including TCP / IP, CAN bus, and Modbus

Experience with structured product testing and documentation

Background in customer requirement assessment and translation into technical specifications

Strong project management and presentation skills

Excellent communication abilities and proven track record of successful customer relationship management
