What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Manager position at eVAC Magnetics?

JOB SUMMARY: The Sumter Plant IT Manager will be a part of a standardized global IT organization and is responsible for daily operations and support of the IT infrastructure and applications in our South Carolina manufacturing site. They will have direct responsibility of the local IT staff and will coordinate activities within the global Team.


The site manager will assist in coordinating the work of Enterprise Infrastructure and Application teams and ensure alignment with the business objectives of the organization, efficient implementation of systems, timely resolution of problems, and high customer satisfaction. They will help implementing global IT Standards and policies, execute strategies and plans to maintain efficient IT operations locally, will ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security of data and systems, and help define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices based on organizational Standards. Other duties include, but are not limited to, project management, budget preparation, personnel management, and vendor management.


They will drive and support local Industry 4.0 Initiative as well as manufacturing digitalization projects, aiming to find the best and most cost-effective solutions with their deep technical background.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises the daily activities of IT support such as PC Support, Local Infrastructure Support & Industry 4.0 (MES)
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinates work activities with other supervisors
  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plans; receives guidance and oversight from managers & global IT leadership
  • Influences and is responsible for the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of their team and its contribution
  • Identifies and resolves day-to-day technical and operational problems
  • Has formal supervisory responsibilities, sets priorities for and coaches employees to meet daily deadlines
  • Applies understanding of how the team relates to other closely related teams to improve efficiency of their own team
  • Develops and continually evolves the Manufacturing Plant IT strategy based on knowledge of company objectives and other factors by managing the activities of an operations department
  • Assists in providing first-line support when workloads are high or where additional experience is required.
  • Participates in and/or leads manufacturing digitalization projects
  • Motivates the team to perform to their best and designs and implements training plans both using external training and cross-skilling initiatives
  • Works with relevant stakeholders and team members to carefully plan, design, and deploy continual improvements to service quality, productivity, and processes
  • Ensures a high level of customer focus (internally and externally) with due care and attention to customer priority issues and appropriate levels of customer communications.
  • Ensures a high level of technical knowledge within team members as evidenced through turnaround time of issues and the ability of team members independently. This includes regular audits of communications and providing appropriate training to team members in this area, and also includes developing and maintaining customer satisfaction measurement metrics, status reporting, and other contractually defined deliverables
  • Proactively recommends courses of action to maintain cost-effectiveness and competitiveness. Responsible for the execution of planned budgets provided by supervisors to achieve assigned margin for projects assigned
  • Onsite customer interaction to develop new business opportunities and assist as assigned in new contract creation and modifications.
  • Ensures that the security of all services is maintained at the highest possible level by performing regular security audits. This includes not only software-hardware security but also data, trade secret, and customer information



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 Year College or University Degree or equivalent
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in an international manufacturing business environment. Proactively seeks to address issues before they escalate and constantly aims to improve
  • ITIL background
  • Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues
  • Willingness to vocalize ideas and resilience in the face of setbacks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are a must
  • Ability to make challenging decisions in a timely fashion across highly complex and multidimensional opportunities
  • Proven influencing and persuasion skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, as necessary



WORK ENVIRONMENT/ WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Professional Office Environment
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury



LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent English. Ability to communicate effectively using various types of business correspondence. German beneficial but not required.
