What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTS PAYABLE COORDINATOR position at Evans Memorial Hospital Inc?
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for keeping record of all daily deposits and payments and maintaining all invoices for processing. Communicates with other departments, financial institutions and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.
- Reviews invoices, purchase orders, and check request for accuracy, proper coding and authorization.
- Verifies price extension on invoices and computes trade discounts when applicable.
- Confers with vendors and materials management to reconcile any difference between invoices and purchase order.
- Enters information such as date, invoice number, vendor account number, amount of invoice and various other necessary information as needed on invoice input screen while keeping up to date.
- Scans all invoices into system after keying into system.
- Processes checks for accounts payable from the list approved by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer on a weekly basis or as needed.
- Maintains vendor master list and accounts payable files and processes required annual reports.
- Prepares, summarizes, balances and records entries in appropriate journals, ledgers, and schedules.
- Assist in preparing audit work papers and provides other information and assistance to the external auditors as directed.
- Collect and sort mail to prepare daily deposits, delivers to appropriate bank and processed schedule of daily cash transactions as needed.
- Reconciles petty cash and cashiers drawer daily.
- Adheres to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs all other related assignments and special projects as requested.
- Participates in continuing education.

- Willing to work flexible hours
Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school. Two years of related worked experience or two-degree degree required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
