- Prepares salads.
- Assists with service to students and staff.
- Assists with the daily cleaning of work area and all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met
- Sets up breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte etc).
- Operates kitchen equipment.
- Counts money, makes change, completes related reports.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

- To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, walk and continuously required to stand.
- The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk and is often required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while performing the duties of this job.
- The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and repeat the same hand/arm/finger motion many times as in operating a cash register.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, frozen foods, canned food, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, close, color, distance and peripheral vision.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above 100E and is often required to go in and out of refrigerators and/or freezers with temperatures ranging from 37E to -10E.
- The employee will occasionally walk on slippery surfaces.
- The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with public and other workers.
- The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.

New Employee Food Service Stipend
New regularly appointed employees will receive a $500 stipend after 90 calendar days of employment and have maintained a 90% attendance rate for that period.

Food Service Employee Retention Bonus Program
Employees will receive two annual bonuses based on their years of service in the Food and Nutrition Department and maintaining a 90% attendance rate. Stipends will be issued in December 2024 (Paid in Jan 2025) and May 2025 (Paid in May or June 2025).

Food Service Mid Semester Stipend (Fall Break)
The Food and Nutrition Department will provide a mid-semester stipend to all regularly appointed employees who return to work after fall break on Monday, October 21st in a paid status and have maintained a 90% attendance rate.

Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of at least 120 days of service with the EVSC in this role.
