Food Service Assistant

Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, oversees the preparation of meals for OASIS residents. Cleans and maintains the facility to promote sanitary conditions which meet or exceed all Health, Fire and Safety Codes and license requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

Prepares and stores food to accommodate OASIS residents.

Assists the Food Service Manager in the rotation of commodities and other food stock.

Maintains kitchen equipment according to OASIS Policies and Procedures.

Assists in the preparation of food for special events.

Cleans the facility and grounds.

Maintains sanitary standards according to Health, Fire and Safety Codes and license requirements.

Assists in the maintenance of supply rooms, linen rooms, laundry rooms and furnace rooms.

Submits documentation as required.

Attends trainings and in-services as assigned.

Assists in the clean-up of the facility for special events.

The ability to work flexible hours.

Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED.

Demonstrated experience working in a kitchen/cafeteria setting; basic understanding of basic food groups and nutrition; demonstrated experience in facility cleaning; basic understanding of cleaning supplies and cleaning methods.

Knowledge of Health, Fire and Safety Codes.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of visitors or employees of organization.

Ability to handle math computations.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must meet certification standards as outlined by ZeroV as directed.

Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Kentucky Driver's License.
