Job Summary
The Compliance and Performance Director position leads professional and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the compliance and performance division of the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility (“Utility”) involved in drinking water production & distribution, and sewer collection & treatment. This position requires a proactive approach to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance and adherence with all relevant federal, state, and industry laws, regulations, and standards, including the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act in managing water, wastewater, industrial pretreatment, and environmental quality.
This position does related work as required. Work is performed under the general direction of EWSU’s Executive Director. Supervision is exercised over all compliance and performance divisional personnel.

Primarily office-based with regular field visits to various sites within Evansville. Must be willing to respond to emergencies outside of standard working hours as needed. Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and handle exposure to hazardous materials with provided PPE and training. Work near floor or wall openings, elevated platforms, and confined spaces. Exposure to environmental conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, and noisy conditions above 85 dB. Potential harm from hazardous gases, chemicals, and electrical shock. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions. Follow OSHA regulations to prevent personal injury.
