Billing Specialist

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our accounting team. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing the billing processes accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all invoices are processed and sent to clients in a timely manner. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, strong computer skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing invoices in a timely manner based on contractual terms and services provided.
• Review and verify billing data for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain and update billing records and client accounts.
• Collaboration with the operations team to ensure proper documentation is received from our drivers.
• Assist in month-end closing and reconciliation processes.
• Answer phone calls and assist clients with billing inquiries and issues. 
• Receiving and organizing incoming payments, verifying credibility, and posting payments in a timely manner.
• Update our system with payment information and other financial data.
• Notify clients of upcoming or missed payment deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
• Strong proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with logistics or transportation industry billing practices is a plus.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
