Job Description:
We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented GIS Technician to join a dynamic onsite team supporting a regional GIS street data project. This role focuses on editing road centerlines and associated road characteristics for integration into a statewide road network.
Responsibilities:
- Edit and manage GIS road centerline data
- Ensure accuracy of road attributes and ownership details
- Coordinate with local government entities for data collection and validation
- Utilize ArcGIS 10.x for spatial data editing, queries, and topology management
- Support GIS mapping and report creation
- Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software
- Experience with shapefiles, geodatabases, and editing in SDE multi-user databases
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work onsite in Darien, GA (with limited telework option after training)
- Bachelor's degree (or near completion) in GIS, Geography, or related field
Preferred:
- Experience with local government GIS projects
- Hands-on GIS data creation and editing experience
Note: This position is funded through the end of the fiscal year, with the possibility of renewal starting July 1st.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $27.23 - $29.49 per hour
