YOUR ROLE: BUYER
As Collections Buyer, you will be an experienced, highly motivated, results oriented, creative merchant who can develop and execute a product vision and source exceptional products.
This is more than a Buyer role. It's your chance to shape the future of retail experiences for our guests. Your mission? Creating curated collections specific to a store or business unit's thematic needs, capable of researching needs and gathering key insights from relevant resources.
Here's the exciting part! You will create lasting relationships, uphold our high standards, and take on rotational projects based on business needs to support needs across all of our business units. With that, you will play a crucial role in helping our stores deliver the best possible experience to every guest, every time, as we continue to wow our guests.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Source, develop, curate and bring to life compelling collections across relevant departments based on business needs, aligning with business goals and maximizing revenue potential
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on specific business unit or store needs, taking direction from Purchasing VP and being resourceful with research and gathering other Information to Inform assortment decisions. Flexible, can work Independently and communicate clearly
- Work closely with VP Purchasing, Planning and other functional partners to develop and implement cohesive product assortments
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve the best possible price, terms and quality of product while building strong vendor relationships
- Support assortment execution as needed, including order placement, vendor follow-ups, etc
- Meet or exceed revenue, SKU count, Inventory and margin goals
- Work with VP Purchasing on overall Inventory health and new product approvals
- Work with project PVP to establish project scope, keep key stakeholders updated on progress
- Identify and communicate resource needs necessary to support project needs
- Foster strong relationships with Internal team members and vendors to effectively manage communication of project needs and plans
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience In retail product buying and product development
- Strong organizational skills, resourceful, proactive and a fast learner
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
- Reliable and meets deadlines
- Produces work efficiently and accurately
- Team player with strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail, organized and can effectively prioritize
