THE POSITION
As Merchandise Coordinator (Full-time Hourly), you will be an integral part of a dynamic team within an organization that values growth and provides ample opportunities for team members. You will be responsible for executing various aspects of product assortment, including managing item and purchase orders, maintaining records, tracking orders, reconciling invoices to order receipts, and communicating with stores and vendors. Supporting the purchasing team, you will help implement the product vision and assortment planning to maximize sales, per capita spending, cost of goods sold (COGs), and inventory health. Additionally, you will undertake special projects aligned with business priorities. Reporting to the Director of Purchasing & Process, you will collaborate closely with the purchasing team to drive success and innovation in the organization.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Business and Financial
Assist the Buyer(s) and collaborate with the Replenishment and Planning teams to achieve sales, per capita spending, inventory, SKU, and cost of goods sold (COGs) goals.
Support the buyer with purchase order maintenance and resolving discrepancies, ensuring accurate order quantities and alignment with vendor invoices.
Management and Operating
Execute operational tasks supporting the product vision, including item setup/maintenance, purchase order placement, order tracking, order maintenance, and communication with vendors and stores.
Assist In the execution of high-priority business projects as needed.
Manage the execution needs of the product lifecycle, including markdowns and the management of active, inactive, and seasonal item statuses.
Build strong relationships with Event Network team members and vendors to effectively communicate product needs and resolve issues quickly.
Administrative
Initiate and maintain system data for item setup, maintenance, reactivation, price and cost changes, promotional activities, and vendor setup.
Provide store support by managing inventory control Issues with the Internal communication system and resolving discrepancies.
Assist the accounting team in resolving issues related to vendor payments, freight, and invoice discrepancies.
Partner with the Freight and Logistics team to support control of freight costs and maintain shipping efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail as a Merchandise Coordinator, Assistant Buyer, Store Planner, or Allocator.
Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, proactivity, and a fast learner.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
Reliable and able to meet deadlines.
Efficient and accurate in work production.
Team player with strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail, and able to effectively prioritize tasks.
