About the role: Everest is seeking a seasoned Director of Software Quality Engineering to lead our software quality initiatives, with a strong focus on Guidewire Policy Center and large-scale insurance product development. This role will drive quality engineering practices, ensuring our software platforms are reliable, scalable, and integrated seamlessly. As the Director, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of insurance industry requirements, lead integration testing across systems, and shape the QA engineering strategy to maintain Everest’s high standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Quality Engineering Strategy and Leadership: Define and execute a strategic vision for quality engineering that supports Everest Insurance’s software platforms, with an emphasis on insurance product development and system integration. Guidewire Platform Expertise: Provide hands-on expertise with Guidewire Policy Center, implementing best practices for quality engineering to support reliability and efficiency across our insurance product lines. Integration Testing: Oversee and manage testing for seamless integration across insurance platforms, ensuring quality and performance in complex, interconnected systems. Quality Standards and Processes: Establish quality engineering processes, standards, and methodologies that align with Everest’s business objectives, compliance requirements, and insurance industry best practices. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing quality engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation. Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with Product Development, Engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to align quality goals, resolve issues, and drive a cohesive approach to quality engineering throughout the development lifecycle. Automation and Process Optimization: Identify and implement automation strategies and process improvements to streamline quality engineering, enhance efficiency, and reduce time-to-market for new products and features. Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish and monitor key quality metrics, using data to inform decisions and improve testing methodologies, and report progress to leadership. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure quality engineering practices meet regulatory and compliance standards for the insurance industry, fostering trust and reliability in Everest’s offerings. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Experience: 10 years in software quality engineering, with 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within the insurance industry. Insurance Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of insurance product development, regulatory standards, and industry-specific quality requirements. Guidewire Platform and Integration Testing Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience with Guidewire Policy Center and insurance system integrations, focusing on quality engineering and performance optimization. Technical Skills: Expertise in QA automation tools, methodologies, and frameworks. Familiarity with agile and waterfall development practices, with a focus on integration and automated testing. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: A data-driven mindset with the ability to drive informed decision-making and optimize testing strategies. Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to foster collaboration across teams and effectively communicate with executive stakeholders.
