Role Purpose: The Global Portfolio Management Leader collaborates across product-related functions to analyze trends, ensuring underwriting appetite and financial objectives are monitored, actioned, and achieved. Role and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Disseminate and collate observations across functional areas to improve results Collaborate with leaders, underwriters, and actuaries to stress-test ideas and project impacts on loss ratios Provide guidance for policy language enhancements based on trends and feedback Create and oversee dashboards and reports to track strategy execution on a recurring basis Reassess implemented actions for effectiveness and recommend adjustments Align underwriting actions with actuarial analyses to assess impacts on loss ratios Coordinate with Corporate Underwriting to update guidelines to reflect portfolio management strategies Ensure execution of strategies through direct engagement with business leaders and hold individuals accountable Develop and Drive Portfolio Management Initiatives Work closely with business leaders, P&L heads, and Deputy Chief Underwriting Officers (DCUOs) to ensure initiatives are actionable and responsive to trend changes Collaborate with Claims teams across North America to track monthly claim results and trends, addressing underwriting challenges and emerging issues proactively Collaborate with underwriters and business leaders to develop potential initiatives and validate their projected impact on loss ratios with Actuarial teams Partner with Policy Wording and Product Development teams to integrate insights from Claims into upfront language improvements for underwriters Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics for enhanced risk selection and management Engage with external consultants and data providers (e.g., Verisk, Advisen) to discover and implement new portfolio management opportunities Provide input to Product Boards to drive actions and accountability Oversee Execution and Monitoring of Portfolio Management Initiatives Collaborate with Data & Analytics, Actuarial, and CUO Office teams to establish and maintain reporting systems for monitoring agreed-upon actions Regularly monitor the implementation of strategies using insights from reporting tools and dashboards Partner with Data & Analytics to create dashboards that provide actionable insights at the portfolio and policy level Conduct evaluations of prior initiatives to confirm their impact and recommend adjustments as needed Assist underwriting leadership in translating strategic goals into actionable steps at the underwriting level Coordinate with Actuarial Pricing Teams Serve as a liaison between underwriting and actuarial teams to ensure alignment and mutual understanding of planned actions Collaborate with Actuarial Pricing to quantify the effects of portfolio management strategies on projected loss ratios Ensure Underwriting Guidelines Reflect Strategic Updates Work with DCUOs and Corporate Underwriting teams to integrate portfolio management strategies into updated underwriting guidelines Drive Accountability and Execution Take ownership of implementation by engaging directly with business heads to ensure adherence to committed strategies and execution plans Requirements: 20 years of experience as a global leader within the insurance industry Leadership Ability/ Management Experience Located Physically in an Everest office a minimum of 3 days per week Comfortable/Capable of Managing by Influence Strong Ability to Manage Through Ambiguity and Change Financial Acumen (P&L Experience) Executive Presence Exceptional oral and written communication, with the ability to provide concise executive summaries to senior management.
