We are seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish), skilled, and experienced Financial Controller to lead the development and maintenance of a strong financial control environment in Chile. This role will require hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting, reporting, and finance-related processes. Key responsibilities: Supervise production of quarterly and annual financial close processes for Chile, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations. Lead and support the automation, standardization, and redesign of finance processes to improve efficiency and accelerate financial close cycles. Oversee the maintenance of general ledger accounts (CoA) and ensure accurate eliminations and group consolidation. Prepare technical accounting papers to support both local statutory and US GAAP accounting. Manage the reconciliation process between local and corporate reporting. Oversee account analysis prepared by local accounting teams. Collaborate to ensure that delivered systems comply with corporate and local regulations. Collaborate closely with the international/global finance team and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Support ad-hoc finance projects, including the implementation of new systems, processes, or regulatory changes. Oversee the preparation of regulatory returns in compliance with local laws. Provide guidance and mentorship to local teams, ensuring high performance and professional development. Maintain a high level of awareness of emerging industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact financial reporting. Control and validate the FECU notes of the reinsurance financial statements, in order to report reinsurance accounts/items, complying with current regulations. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Qualified accountant with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in insurance sector in Chile. Extensive experience with group financial consolidation and statutory reporting under IFRS and US GAAP. Proven experience working in multi-entity, multi-country environments, ideally across the LATAM region. Experience in communicating complex financial information to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to lead a financial team across diverse geographies, including coaching and mentoring staff. Knowledge, Skills & Competences Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Highly organized, with a proven ability to prioritize workloads in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to dive into details while also seeing the big picture. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to interact with senior management and cross-functional teams. Ability to challenge the status quo, identify improvement opportunities, and drive change. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment. Desirable knowledge of local accounting regulations across the Latam region. - Understand the data structures used in systems that generate accounting information (ERP, Reporting, etc.).
