Job Description:
The Agile Project Manager (APM) is responsible for leading, managing, and delivering projects in an agile environment, ensuring that teams adhere to agile principles and values while meeting project goals and stakeholder expectations. The APM facilitates collaboration, removes impediments, manages timelines, and ensures effective communication between stakeholders, developers, and Product Owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Project planning and execution: Plan, manage, and deliver projects using agile or traditional methodologies.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Track and communicate project/initiative progress to stakeholders.
- Coordinate agile events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage the backlog and guide team priorities.
- Identify and address risks and impediments hindering project/team progress and collaborate with team to develop mitigation strategies and ensure a smooth workflow.
- Track team performance using KPIs and metrics and coach and mentor teams on agile principles and values.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in processes.
- Facilitate team preparation for quarterly planning and ensure alignment with business goals (SAFe).
- Encourage effective communication and cooperation among team members and stakeholders.
- Manage project/product financials.
- Strong foundation in project management principles, including scope, time, cost, quality, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
- Hands-on understanding of the why and how-to for lean/agile methodologies, including use of ALM tools such as Jira to track/report on work.
- Work effectively in hybrid software delivery environment.
- Removes obstacles, protects focus, prioritizes work, and mitigates risks to drive improvement and value.

- BA/BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- PMP / CSM certifications required
- Experience in managing cloud projects desirable.
- Planview / JIRA / ServiceNow experience desirable
- Minimum 7 years of experience implementing enterprise infrastructure projects and custom solutions
- 2-3 years recent Scrum Master experience applying agile principles and practices in an agile transformation environment
- Previous experience delivering projects in P&C Insurance industry
- Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced changing environment and participate in continual process improvement
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Experience managing onshore and offshore teams
- Demonstrated team leadership and project management expertise
- Possess the judgment and ability to modify project management approach based on project size, complexity and team
- Knowledge with the infrastructure and cloud domain and current technology platforms to understand the projects and raise questions in order to help correctly steer them to completion.
- Ability to build and maintain business relationships with employees, business partners and vendors
- Comfortable hosting meetings with various audiences, (engineers, management or C level positions) Self-starter that requires little direction
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
