Everest Reinsurance Company, is seeking a Senior Reinsurance Claim Examiner for its headquarters in Warren, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of claim handling experience and possess solid coverage, damage evaluation, claim resolution and customer service skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage a caseload of commercial casualty claims including CGL, Professional Lines and Auto Liability, Product Liability claims.
- Maintain strong client focus by aggressively and proactively researching issues, providing support, and assuring client satisfaction in a timely fashion.
- Support underwriting team needs for claim information and consultation on coverage.
- Evaluate claims, applying technical knowledge and people skills to effect fair and prompt claim resolution.
- Complete detailed reviews of claim related issues, including coverage, liability and damage and document the claim file appropriately.
- Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expense reserves.
- Evaluate client claim organizations by completing claim reviews for underwriting. Some travel required.
- Interact with internal and external clients related to claim matters associated with assigned accounts.
- 5 years of claims handling experience or equivalent legal practice.
- Bachelor’s degree required and advanced degree/industry designations preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills, building and maintaining relationships with underwriters, brokers, and internal and external clients.
- Experience with handling claims in a paperless environment.
- Strong insurance background with an understanding of insurance business concepts.
- Reinsurance claims experience a plus, onsite training provided.
- Excellent organization and analytical skills are essential.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be self-motivated and can work in a collaborative team environment.
- Interest in developing leadership and management skills.
- Interest in data analytics a plus.
- Hybrid work schedule: 3 days on-site in Warren, 2 days remote per week.
