Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the radiology department, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and staff supervision.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of X-Ray Technologists, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to excel in their roles.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and manage training and professional development for staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and communication across departments.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all radiology services adhere to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards, including compliance with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) guidelines.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures for imaging equipment, ensuring all devices are properly calibrated and maintained.
- Oversee the implementation of radiation safety measures and protocols, protecting patients, staff, and the general public.
- Ensure all documentation and patient records are accurate, up-to-date, and meet HIPAA and state regulatory requirements.
Operational Management:
- Develop and optimize radiology department workflows to improve efficiency and reduce patient wait times.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and administrative staff to coordinate imaging procedures, address scheduling needs, and resolve any issues that arise.
- Assist practitioners in interpreting images and making accurate diagnoses, particularly in sports-related injuries and primary care cases.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and ensure a high level of service throughout the imaging process.
Technology Management and Equipment:
- Stay current with the latest developments in radiology technology and procedures, recommending equipment upgrades or enhancements as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or preventive maintenance as required.
- Manage inventory for radiology supplies and ensure that the department is well-stocked.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of radiology experience, preferably with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong leadership skills, with proven experience in managing teams and fostering a positive work environment
- Knowledge of radiology safety standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience in sports medicine and primary care settings is a plus
- Strong technical skills in operating and troubleshooting radiology equipment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity in healthcare technology, including PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
