About the Position
Evergreen Goodwill is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our growing team and support the organization's digital transformation. This role will be responsible for leveraging data to uncover insights, drive decision-making, and optimize operational efficiency across our donation processing, retail, and workforce development programs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, create reports, and deliver actionable insights that support our mission of sustainability, community impact, and economic mobility.
The BI Analyst will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization. This role will use advanced analytics and reporting tools to identify trends, performance metrics, and opportunities for improvement, ultimately contributing to the growth and effectiveness of Evergreen Goodwill’s programs. This role will also support the design and implementation of dashboards, KPIs, and data systems to empower leadership and teams with the information they need to make informed, strategic decisions.

Dashboard & Report Design
- Design and develop interactive, user-friendly self-service dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI or Excel) to provide actionable insights and drive decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain automated reports and self-service BI tools, empowering departments to access and utilize data independently.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process improvement.
- Provide ongoing data analysis support for key initiatives, including sales, donation processing, retail operations, and workforce development programs, helping stakeholders make data-driven decisions.
- Present data insights and recommendations to leadership in a clear and understandable format, translating complex technical information into actionable business strategies.
- Monitor data quality and troubleshoot data discrepancies, implementing processes to maintain high-quality data standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest BI trends and technologies, continuously recommending improvements to existing reporting systems and data workflows.

Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong experience with data analysis and querying using Python, SQL, Excel, or other analytical tools.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data governance principles.
- Experience in creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to track key business outcomes.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Azure or similar cloud technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to detail and strong data integrity skills to ensure accurate and reliable data reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insights.

- Experience with ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load) and integrating data from multiple systems.
- Familiarity with machine learning and data science concepts to support predictive analytics and advanced reporting.
- Experience with data automation tools, including Power Automate or similar platforms, to streamline data processes.
- Knowledge of non-profit sector metrics, with an understanding of the types of data and KPIs that drive success in sustainability, workforce development, and social impact.
- Certifications in BI tools or data analysis (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and operate computer systems.
