## Overview
We are seeking a dedicated compassionate EMG Technician to join our medical team. The EMG Technician will perform electromyography (EMG) to assist pain management physicians in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating neuromuscular disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of neuroanatomy and electrophysiology, with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. ## Duties
- Prepare Patients for Procedures: Perform diagnostic evaluations on patients and explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure they are comfortable and properly positioned for testing.
- Perform EMG: Demonstrate proficiency in EMG equipment, conduct EMG procedures under the direction of a physician, following established protocols to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Operate Neurodiagnostic Equipment: Set up, calibrate, and operate EMG machines and related neurodiagnostic equipment, ensuring proper electrode placement and machine function.
- Monitor and Record Data: Monitor patients during testing, record electrical activity from muscles and nerves, and document test results accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assisting Physicians: Work under the supervision of pain management physicians and work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and support diagnostic decision-making.
## Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or a related field preferred.
- Certification: Certified Electromyography Technician (CET) or Certification in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or Certification by the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as an EMG Technician or in a related neurodiagnostic role preferred. Experience with EMG procedures is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating EMG machines and neurodiagnostic equipment, including proper electrode placement and test execution.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology, as well as familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices.
