Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Evergreen Recycling LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace equipment as needed to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Prioritize breakdowns based on input from production personnel.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems in collaboration with production staff.
- Ensure work orders are completed promptly and all parts used are properly accounted for.
- Diagnose and repair equipment in a timely manner or escalate to the Maintenance Manager when necessary.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections and services on machines.
- Clean and maintain machines and machine parts, removing parts as necessary.
- Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Identify the causes of unexpected equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies, including cleaning, organizing, inventorying, stocking, and coordinating with managers to schedule regular maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Understand electrical diagrams and have knowledge of 12 VDC to 480 VAC electrical wiring with diagnostic capabilities.
- Previous experience with PLC's, VFD's, and relay-based logic.
- Multi-discipline mechanical, electrical, HVAC skills, and the ability to quickly learn new processes/equipment.
- Effective communication, observation, planning, writing, reading, basic math, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills.
- Proficient computer skills to receive/close work orders, view/search different folders for manual, notes, and/or documents.
- Demonstrated good housekeeping practices and 5S principles.
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Good communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a track record of improvements.
- 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance environment with a track record of improvements.
- Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience preferred.
