Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tool Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial tools and maintenance and the ability to organize, inventory, and calibrate tools. This role involves putting together tool kits for assorted facility maintenance projects, so understanding projects from start to finish, and the tools needed to complete the project is essential. The Tool Shop Technician will play a crucial role in supporting facility operations for one of Evergreen Solutions 4U, Inc.'s data center customers and ensuring that the tool shop is functioning smoothly and efficiently.
This position reports to the Evergreen's Data Center Facilities Manager that oversees facilities maintenance at all data centers in the customer's NOVA Region.
Responsibilities
- Improve Tool Shop efficiency through organization and standardization.
- Organize and maintain tool storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility.
- Conduct tool inventories and track tool usage.
- Identify and recommend improvements to tool storage and management practices.
- Maintain and repair tools as needed.
- Put together tool kits (kitting) for standard projects within the data center
- Implement the 5 steps of 5S
- Conduct regular 5S audits and implement corrective actions
- Maintain 5S standards and procedures
- Ensure 5S principles are consistent across all work areas.
5S
- Sort: remove unhelpful and unnecessary items from the shop/work area.
- Set in Order: Arrange tools and materials for quick retrieval and storage.
- Shine: Clean and maintain the workspace and equipment
- Standardize: Write down the new way of doing things.
- Sustain: Commit to the process and make it part of daily work.
Requirements
- Driver's License
- Basic skills/knowledge of maintenance/mechanical knowledge
- Forklift operation
- Workplace organization and inventory
- Knowledge of basic, intermediary, and complex tools and calibrations
- Maintenance project planning and kitting.

- Monday through Friday schedule 7am-3:30pm.
- $20.00-$22.00 per hour depending on experience.
