Essential FunctionsPartners creatively with the Minister and other worship leaders to facilitate music ministry that : Supports and integrates well with the other elements of the worship serviceIntegrates our youth, as well as our adults, into our music liturgy on a consistent basisIs a motivated and approachable mentor for our volunteer musiciansEmbraces interfaith, multicultural, anti-oppressive ideals while supporting individuals’ spiritual and artistic development.Conducts and coordinates the music of the congregation : Conducts the choir an average of (2) Sunday worship services each month from September through June, as well as negotiated holiday services (i.e. Christmas Eve).Collaborates with accompanists.Integrates other instrumentalists or soloists (including substitutes), whether paid or volunteerWorks in supervisory role with any musiciansLeads choir rehearsals twice a month from September through June.Strengthens the Evergreen community by : Offering a variety of opportunities for participation among performers / contributors.Collaborates with the Minister on music selections, rehearsal schedules, music licensing, budget, etc.Collaborates with Congregational Administrator to communicate music-related events.Other Responsibilities : Although not required, we are open to candidates who might also like to serve as piano accompanist for Sunday services, for additional financial compensation.Engages professional development and collegial support by maintaining membership and participation in the Association Of Unitarian Universalist Music Ministries (and attending their annual conference, if possible).
