What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist position at Evergreen Veterinary Hospital?
The Veterinary Assistant (VA) provides the veterinary service team with support in various capacities, and the veterinary receptionist, or Client Services Associate (CSA), provides the first impression of the practice, on the phone or in person. Both positions require professionalism, positivity, strong organizational skills, excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and the ability to handle several tasks at once while remaining calm under pressure. They actively support the value of all hospital services and endeavor to improve their knowledge to better serve client and patient needs.
All position applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year experience as a Veterinary Assistant. Typing skills and some computer knowledge are required. VA positions require lifting, carrying and restraining animals, as well as standing for extended periods of time or working in a squatting position. The job may expose the applicant to unpleasant odors, noises and risks including bites, scratches or contagious disease, although every effort is made to reduce these risks.
