What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position at Greenville Veterinary Clinic?
Veterinary clinic looking for Receptionist / Assistant to join our team. Must be willing and able to be cross trained in both Assistant and Receptionist positions. Need to be able to multi task in a fast paced environment. Able to provide great customer service and be willing to talk to people. Computer skills, ability to spell and alphabetize, and math skills including fractions are a must. Must be able to restrain and control large dogs. Need to be familiar with cat behavior. Candidate must be willing to study, learn, and retain new material in order to communicate information to clients.
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Generate invoices, review charges with clients, and receive payment for services.
- Keep patient charts up to date and organized.
- Answering phones which will include scheduling appointments, answering questions, and recording messages for the doctor and staff.
- Assist in holding patients during physical exams, which includes being able to kneel on the floor while holding large dogs.
- Able to control a 100 pound dog on a leash.
- Product knowledge.
- Client education.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain any area in the clinic (ex: kennels, treatment area, surgery, examination rooms).
- Patient care (ex: walking, feeding, medicating, bathing).
- Able to carry 50 pounds regularly through normal work day and stand for long periods of time as needed.
Job averages 28 - 33 hours per week
Hours listed below may vary slightly
Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays 11:30am - 7:00pm
Fridays 11:30am - 6:00pm
Every other Saturday 7:45am - 12:00pm
Initial training will be held during morning hours starting at 8:30am and will last approximately 2 weeks.
