Position Overview

• Title: Superintendent
• Reports To: Director of Field Operations; Project Manager
• Supervises: Carpenters, Laborers, Trade Professionals
• Status: Non-exempt

Summary

• Oversee construction projects valued at $20M from planning to completion
• Manage daily site operations, scheduling, materials, and safety compliance

Key Responsibilities

• Set up the job site with essentials (e.g., dumpsters, trailers, safety fencing)
• Coordinate with local authorities (code enforcement, fire department, police)
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and materials efficiently
• Organize and schedule subcontractors for optimal productivity
• Supervise day-to-day site activities and ensure compliance with project plans
• Communicate updates and issues with the Project Manager
• Maintain clear communication with the project owner regarding progress and concerns
• Document all communications through RFI’s or emails
• Prioritize safety; report deficiencies to the appropriate manager
• Resolve design conflicts (structural, mechanical, architectural)
• Manage self-performed work to maintain efficiency
• Keep the job site clean and organized
• Maintain daily logs, photos, and reports using Procore
• Assist with punch list completion and ensure trades address issues promptly
• Supervise additional superintendents and assistant superintendents as assigned
• Operate carpentry tools and equipment as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• 8 years of construction experience
• 30-hour OSHA certification
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets
• Carpentry and welding experience
• Forklift operation certification
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Computer literacy

Physical Requirements

• Physical mobility and stamina
• Ability to operate equipment and power tools
• Lift up to 100 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move across large job sites
