Job Description –Gallery Attendant/Custodial Staff
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Employment Category: Part-time, non-exempt (20-25 hours per week)
The Gallery Attendant role is an important part of day-to-day operations at the Everson Museum of Art. This person will assist in the security of the Museum and its collections, as well as the safety and comfort of staff and visitors. An idea candidate would be a proactive thinker, team player, and have a positive attitude!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Security:
- Ensure the safety of artwork by making sure guests are adhering to Museum policies.
- Provide guest assistance when needed.
- Alert facilities manager of incidents and circumstances necessary to maintain safe and secure environment.
- Write incident reports, documenting activities and incidents.
- Act as a support liaison for guests by answering questions and providing an overall positive experience.
Custodial:
- Provide custodial support for Museum interior and exterior facilities, including mopping, restroom cleaning, vacuuming, and other duties as assigned.
Event Set-Up:
- Assist with set-up for any Everson or private events (tables, chairs, A/V, etc. ).
Requirements:
- Previous Security Guard experience a plus
- Previous Customer Service experience preferred
- High School Diploma
- Ability to stand for entire duration of shift
- Ability to lift 40lbs
- Variable schedule requires early mornings, nights, and weekends
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
