Position Summary:
To provide individual, group and family therapy to children, adolescents, and their families; develop/implement Individual Treatment and Transition/Discharge Plans; maintain current and accurate case documentation; conduct clinical assessments; complete activity and performance reports.
To work closely with the Assistant Program Director Clinical Services to act as a mentor, coach, administrative supervision and support to those in a Therapist or Intern position.
Essential Functions:

- Provide individual, group, and family therapy, within the scope of professional license, to children, adolescents, and their families.
- Learn and implement evidence-based practices selected by the organization, which may include attending on- or off-site training, participating in ongoing supervision, consultation, and/or continuing education, committing to delivery of the practice as expected by Everstand, following practice guidelines with fidelity, and engaging in fidelity monitoring.
- Provide effective management of assigned cases which includes but is not limited to: developing, monitoring, and reviewing Individual Treatment Plans, Safety Plans, and Transition/Discharge Plans, and collaborating in transition/discharge planning.
- Serve on the Interdisciplinary Care Team for each youth served, to include consultation with the providing psychiatrist regarding client needs and interventions, and working collaboratively with Case Managers, Unit Supervisors, and other program staff under the guidance of the Care Team Coordinator.
- Evaluate the child’s/youth’s/family’s progress towards goal attainment on a designated basis in line with individual treatment and transition/discharge plan goals that are individualized, have strengths and service needs clearly identified, and are developed in behaviorally measurable terms.
- Complete psychosocial intake assessments and ongoing clinical assessments that include participation by child/youth and parents/guardians.
- Provide clinical services that are trauma-informed and aligned with Everstand’s purpose and values.
- Support the hiring and onboarding process for new Therapists and interns.
- Mentor Therapists on agency policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and relevant child welfare topics.
- Work closely with residential program leadership, including Treatment Team Managers and Program Directors, to promote effective communication about and resolution of issues that arise between clinical and program team members.
- Coordinate with the Everstand staff members and community resources to address clients’ service needs.
- Maintain effective working relationships with families, children/youth, colleagues, consultants and community agencies.
- Create Guidance Plans for the living environment with input from the care team and act as a consult to the care team, family, and school regarding clinical and behavioral presentations and interventions.
- Use Guidance Plans to create 1-1 supervision forms for direct care staff and monitor staff in the delivery of those services.
- Complete required documentation and reports within the defined time lines.
- Ensure assigned case records meet documentation standards.
- Engage in the peer review process.
- Record and submit billing data within the defined time lines.
- Promote child/youth/family understanding of available Everstand and community resources and facilitate referrals as appropriate.
- Participate in biweekly clinical team meetings, weekly care team meetings, departmental and program-specific interdisciplinary team meetings, as well as ITP and IEP meetings as appropriate
- Act as Therapist on Call on a rotating basis or maintain a schedule that includes a weekend shift to provide family engagement activities.
- Provide staff training and professional development opportunities for current and newly hired staff.
- Obtain and maintain certification as a “super user” in Everstand’s electronic health record software system
- Assist in organizing, preparing and completing various compliance tasks related to internal/external clinical chart audits to ensure Everstand is meeting all internal and external regulations.
- Assist and support Assistant Program Director Clinical Services in change initiatives and special projects, as needed.
Non-Essential Functions:

- Provide effective case management to assigned cases which includes but is not limited to: liaison with internal and external professionals such as health professionals, schools, placing agencies, lawyers, community partners, and other human service agencies.
- Ensure assigned case records meet documentation standards including monthly chart audits. Submit by the 15th of each month, to the Admin Asst. documentation of the chart audit.
- Ensure post-discharge follow-up—30 days, 60 days, and 90 days after discharge—to collect data that accurately reflects the residual impact of treatment.

- Organize, implement and provide timely documentation for group therapy for clients across residential programs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship regarding group therapy.
- Support the Assistant Program Director Clinical Services in the following areas: review of clinical documentation, review and editing of clinical policies and procedures, planning and implementing departmental initiatives, and developing and co-leading clinical team meetings.
- Provide individual clinical supervision to Therapists and Interns as needed, with a focus on performance, outcomes, and professional development
- Identify supervision and/or professional training needs to supervisor as they arise.
- Provide clinical coverage to other Everstand programs as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility:
- To provide effective clinical consultation and administrative supervision to any assigned clinical staff with a focus on clinical and administrative coaching, performance, development, and support.
- Demonstrates adaptive leadership through supportive coaching and mentoring to therapists through regular administrative supervision and training opportunities. Integral person responsible for the professional development of the department, recognizing the importance of addressing vicarious trauma for staff. Responsible for providing regular feedback and annual evaluation for therapists.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
In the nature of being at a residential and school environment there may be times you experience conditions in which challenging behavior can be exhibited from our youth to include but not limited to, physical agitation, physical violence and/or emotional outburst.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and must include two evening shifts (e.g. 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.). Option for one work from home day. Must rotate through as Therapist on Call. Option to have one scheduled weekend shift instead of evening shifts. Attendance at occasional weekend or evening family engagement events may be expected. This position is eligible for flex schedule per Everstand policy and procedure. Non-essential for snow emergencies.
Travel
May include some travel by car to community-based meetings, to the local hospital emergency department to support a youth who is awaiting psychiatric evaluation following an emergency petition, and/or transportation of youth to community-based meetings. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area, occasional out of state travel, and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
· Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or University
· Current LCSW-C, LCPC, LCMFT, or LCPAT Maryland State License
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience providing therapeutic services to children and families
- At least two years of supervisory experience.
- At least three years post-graduate experience
- The ability to provide clinical supervision
