The Impact You Will Make
The Trust Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate oversight, analysis, and management of all trust-related activities. This includes maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, preparing detailed reports, supporting internal and external audits, and analyzing data trends to identify exceptions. The Trust Accountant will proactively develop strategies to address and resolve issues efficiently, contributing to the organization's overall financial integrity and operational excellence.

The Trust Accountant will proactively develop strategies to address and resolve issues efficiently, contributing to the organization's overall financial integrity and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and interpret state statue.
- Plan for all Annual Reports filing deadlines and audits.
- Research all issues related to report filing and state requirements.
- Prepare and submit Annual Reports in compliance with State and Federal Statutes.
- Analyze all system reports related to filing and trusting and sales documentation.
- Evaluate remittance and deposits.
- Minimize any potential issues by alerting Trust Manager to short falls or bottlenecks.
- Assist Trust Manager with Special Projects and Various duties.
- Collaborate with CPA, Location Administrators, Trust Administrators, and other parties.
- File establishment license renewals for cemetery and funeral locations.
- File initial acquisition licensure and facilitate communication with State Agencies to ensure proper licensure.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related area.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or financial reporting preferred.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel Skills including but not limited to: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced filtering.
- Ability to interpret any incoming documents concerning employment, State, and Federal compliances.
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Must possess valid driver's license.
