Job description
Working as a Ropes Course Facilitator, you will work with children, aged from 4 to 15, in assisting and leading low-ropes (team-building and problem solving) games and initiatives and high-ropes/challenge course facilitation. The Ropes Course Facilitator is responsible for running activity periods for groups of around 15 children at a time, assisted by other ropes/challenge course staff and 1 or 2 counselors. As a specialist, you are also required to be a part of our arrivals and departures team! The Ropes Course Facilitator position is perfectly suited to a student or teacher (or similar) who has some ropes, challenge course, or rock climbing interest and/or experience. You would be supported by an experienced Ropes Course Director, who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the summer. As a Ropes Course Facilitator, you are required to be part of our arrivals and departures team.

JOB & CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
An enthusiastic, motivated, warm, friendly, caring individual.
The ability to communicate, through patience and clarity, with children and co-workers.
The knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate low and high ropes fundamentals and techniques (this will be taught in staff training).
A working comfort level with heights (this can't be taught!).
The ability to climb and belay (belaying will be taught as part of staff training).
The physical strength and fitness to climb and belay consistently.
Applicants must have graduated high school by the end of June.
DATES, HOURS AND PAY
8:30am to 4:00pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day)
June 23rd to Aug 22nd (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 15th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed.
Mon to Fri each week except for July 4th when we are closed.
$16 an hour
Extra income can be made by working week 9, working as a Bus Counselor or Extended Day staff.
LOCATION
Sharon, MA but with free bus transportation from all over MA.
Housing is NOT included.
Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike, and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis.
