Role Overview
The Business Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing operational functions across human resources, facilities, operational oversight, and project management, while also providing administrative and project-based support for financial activities. This role ensures seamless day-to-day operations and supports the COO by executing plans and ensuring all moving pieces are coordinated effectively.
This is a full-time role requiring a detail-oriented, solutions-focused professional skilled in cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, and operational management.
Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources
- Execute recruitment logistics, onboarding, and the maintenance of employee records.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities and HR-related events to ensure smooth operations.
- Support the implementation of policies and processes to enhance organizational health as directed by the COO.
Facilities Management
- Oversee office operations, including supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and logistics for office reconfigurations or moves.
- Maintain high hospitality standards to ensure a welcoming and professional environment.
Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for all operational vendors, ensuring timely delivery of services and effective communication.
- Coordinate vendor relationships, contracts, and performance evaluations in alignment with organizational needs.
Operational Oversight
- Organize and maintain operational records, ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible.
- Collaborate with IT vendors to manage system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting, ensuring staff have access to the tools and resources needed.
- Maintain and optimize communication platforms and workflows to ensure smooth collaboration and clear information flow.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
Operational Project Management
- Oversee projects that enhance operational functions, ensuring effective execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and resources, providing regular updates to the COO.
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration to achieve project objectives.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR operations, general operations, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing HR operations, compliance, and process improvement within nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
- Familiarity with operational tools, such as project management software or HR information systems (HRIS).
Additional Expectations
- Hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely, but some on-site presence at the Pompano and North Lauderdale offices is required.
