Job Description
This position supports Evident Scientific, Inc. customers by providing product demonstrations, application development, and training for the industrial microscopy product line. The product categories within this role’s scope include semiconductor analytical equipment, metallurgical microscopes, measuring microscopes, and laser microscopes.
In addition, the position will provide support to industrial microscope sales representatives in their respective functions. The Technical Sales Support Specialist will also collaborate with the product marketing team to develop marketing collateral, including content for publications, the company website, and social media platforms.
Job Duties
- Provide product and application support to sales representatives (direct and indirect), customers, and internal staff for industrial microscope products and accessories.
- Deliver hands-on technical support for assigned industrial products, including instrument setup, calibration, on-site demonstrations, and technical consultations for end-users and collaborative partners.
- Offer daily technical support by responding to inquiries about leads, quotes, and orders from sales representatives and customers.
- Develop materials for technical workshops, seminars, and training courses (internal and external) covering product functionality and applications.
- Conduct training sessions for internal teams, sales channels, and external audiences.
- Assist in maintaining a product knowledge database to contribute to the knowledge capture process.
- Support trade shows by performing assigned duties and coordinating demo equipment shipments with the logistics team and trade show manager.
- Create content for sales tools, publications, the company website, blogs, and other media platforms.
- Travel to customer sites across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America for training or sales support as needed.
Job Requirements
Education:
- B.S. in Engineering or a science discipline is required.
- Higher level of education in the above-mentioned disciplines is preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles, discussing solutions in microscopy, image analysis, testing and analytical equipment, or materials science.
- Hands-on experience with microscopes or metrology equipment in a lab setting preferred.
- Knowledge of materials characterization techniques and applications in industries such as automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, or electronics preferred.
Skills:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines
- Must possess strong analytical skills to make recommendations to internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with customers and internal team effectively.
- High proficiency with MS Word Excel and PowerPoint required.
Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.):
- Must be able to travel overnight as required.
- Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record and personal vehicle required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Microscopy imaging and/or metrology experience are preferred.
- Knowledge in materials science and mechanical engineering are preferred.
