We’re seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team for the 2025 season! We are offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of competitive gaming. Genius League Summary:

The Genius League (GL) is EGs award-winning internship program and youth development initiative that is open to providing hands-on experience in both the business and gaming sides of esports. The GL internship program is available to current college/university students and recent graduates, and is a 9 month, part-time program built with the goal to grow talent both professionally and personally. Interns will work as part of the EG team and be able to gain valuable experience in their respective field.

Job Summary:

  • 9-month paid internship, January 2025 - September 2025
  • Gain real-world working experience through dynamic projects
  • Receive guidance and feedback from your assigned mentor throughout the program
  • Exposure to the business side of esports, including marketing and content development

Job Description:

We are looking for our next event marketing and operations intern; you’re someone that enjoys ideating on ways to engage fans, you like attending events and meeting new people, and you are highly organized. The event marketing and operations intern will work as part of the marketing team and will report to the Brand Marketing Manager to ensure that daily operations, objectives, and event/activation strategies align with brand goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

General:

  • Be a visionary and think creatively
  • Execute and see through projects on tight turnarounds
  • Assisting the team with day-to-day requests
  • Communicate cross functionally with relevant team members to ensure cohesiveness
  • Delivers communication to key internal stakeholders: pre, during, ongoing
  • Ensures that activation strategy aligns with EGs brand strategy or partner deliverables
  • Self-starter, able to operate with minimal direction and willing to take on challenges

Job Specific:

  • Use data, internal knowledge, and community feedback to build in-person fan engagement strategies that are unique to our brand
  • Plan and execute in-person events/activations taking place at Riot Studios
  • Collaborate with local colleges/universities to plan co-led events with the objective to drive brand awareness
  • Be a critical thinker and uphold a logistical mindset to ensure that event/activation needs are delivered or prepared days before event/activation
  • Source volunteers for various events and communicate effective day-of event schedule and plan
  • Take lead on daily operations and logistics happening in LA; including but not limited to, packaging, shipping, picking up team apparel, etc.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Someone who is a self-starter, extremely driven, and embodies a growth mindset
  • Team oriented
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks/projects at once
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to adapt to complexities of working on a small team
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required
  • Is punctual and responsive
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, when necessary
  • Understanding of the gaming/esports space is preferred, but not required

Education and/or Experience:

  • Current student enrolled in a college or university
  • Recent graduate

Work Environment & Physical Requirements (if applicable):

  • Willing and able to travel to EG offices in Playa Vista when needed during the gaming season
  • Willing and able to travel to various site locations (Riot Studios, colleges/universities, etc.)
  • Willing to work unique hours/ weekends
  • Willing and able to be present and working remotely, up to 5 days a week
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (applicable for events)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs (if needed)
