Evoke Wellness Massachusetts is looking for a Driver to also fill in during down time as a Recovery Support Specialist/Behavioral Health Technician. The Recovery Support Specialist acts as a representative of treatment staff and observes all patient activities, maintains a visible presence on the clients at the treatment center, community housing, and outside activities. The Recovery Support Specialist will also circulate throughout the treatment center and community housing facility, and alert to fire and safety hazards. The Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for driving the company vehicle to ensure clients arrive safely and on time each day for scheduled activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Developing a daily / weekly structure for clients
- Transporting clients to and from appointments and meetings, when necessary
- Utilizing the company van for transportation of clients when applicable
- Orienting and confirming the company’s rules and regulations to new admissions
- Facilitating communication with ancillary services
- Building positive relationships with staff and physicians. Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment
- Following Infection Control Guidelines at all times
- Providing a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and clients
- Assisting nursing with clients
- Providing reports on the visual rounds.
- Facilitating client’s rules and responsibilities and reporting non-compliance to the Supervisor
- Providing empathetic point of view when interacting with our clients.
- Require to continuously learn new skills. Should be open to new learning experiences, and complete in-house training and competencies required for the position.
- This IS a dual role- If there is no one to drive, you are expected to help at the program during your shift with fresh air breaks, accompany patients to meals, and other duties as assigned. Primary role WILL be driving!
Work Environment: Works in a professional environment including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Required to use electronic devices for internal communication. The employee frequently is required to use hands, finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
EDUCATION: Graduation from High School or GED – a must
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver's License
