Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Aerospace Tooling Designer to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tooling design, engineering principles, and aerospace manufacturing processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge tooling solutions that support the production of innovative aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop aerospace tooling and fixtures utilizing CAD software (such as SolidWorks, , or AutoCAD).
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define tooling requirements and specifications based on project needs.
- Perform design analysis to ensure structural integrity, functionality, and manufacturability of tooling solutions.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for tooling designs.
- Conduct design reviews and participate in cross-functional teams to ensure design alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to facilitate the production and assembly of tooling prototypes.
- Troubleshoot design issues and implement improvements based on feedback from production teams and fieldwork.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices related to aerospace tooling and manufacturing.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (not required) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in tooling design, preferably in the aerospace industry (3-5 years preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
- Knowledge of tooling design principles, geometric tolerancing, and engineering specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques (e.g., additive manufacturing, composite fabrication).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to aerospace tooling (e.g., AS9100).
- Certification or training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $35.00 per hour
