Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. and international patent applications, responses, and amendments
- Coordinate with foreign counsel on non-U.S. filings and prosecution strategy
- Manage and monitor patent docket systems, ensuring accuracy in deadlines and updates
- Draft Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), Assignments, Declarations, and related documents
- Review USPTO correspondence and track all relevant deadlines. Maintain client files and ensure compliance with USPTO and foreign filing rules
- Assist attorneys with patent portfolio management, including reporting filings and actions to clients
- Other responsibilities may apply based on the evolving needs of the firm
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in U.S. and international patent prosecution
- Strong understanding of USPTO rules, procedures, and electronic filing systems (e.g., EFS-Web, PAIR)
- Experience working with foreign agents and international patent offices
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IP docketing software (e.g., CPI, Anaqua, Foundation IP)
- Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certificate preferred
