Litigation Legal Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys specializing in complex commercial litigation.
- Type and proofread legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence.
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and accessible.
- Coordinate with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in litigation.
- Maintain digital and physical files.
- Handle electronic filing (e-filing) and service of court documents in state and federal courts in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and appointments.
- Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, litigation dates, and reminders.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining digital and physical pleading binders.
- Provide general secretarial and administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of five years of assistant/secretarial or administrative support experience in a commercial litigation department or practice.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation.
- Proficiency in electronic filing (e-filing) in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort in speaking with clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word, and experience with document management software (i-Manage preferred).
- Typing proficiency and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- A client-focused, service-oriented approach with the ability to work full time in the office (this is not a remote position).
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment.
