A leading space technology company is seeking a Product Designer to help revolutionize sattellite operations. Your work will simplify mission control workflows, visualize real-time satellite data, and enable seamless automation—directly impacting mission-critical operations.
The Role
As a Product Designer, you’ll own the design process for our satellite operations automation SaaS solution, from concept to implementation. Working closely with product managers and engineers, you’ll create intuitive user experiences that streamline complex workflows, empowering satellite operators and manufacturers to execute their missions efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Design visually appealing and functional interfaces that transform complex satellite operations into intuitive workflows.
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure a consistent user experience.
- Conduct user interviews and usability studies to understand pain points and optimize user interactions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma (or similar tools) to guide product development.
- Translate real-time mission control data into visualizations that enable operators to make rapid, informed decisions.
- Work closely with engineers to bring your designs to life, ensuring seamless implementation.
- Advocate for user-centred design principles and evangelize design thinking across the company.
- Conduct A/B testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and data analysis.
What You’ll Need:
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in UX/UI software product design, preferably for technical products.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI design that simplifies complex processes, real-time dashboards, and data-heavy interfaces.
- Skills: Proficiency in prototyping tools and design software such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Understanding of user research methodologies, usability testing, and user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to work independently through ambiguity and quickly learn new concepts, such as orbital mechanics.
- Experience designing for non-technical users in technical industries is a plus.
