RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead overall activities in support of Evonik's Mechanical Integrity program and maintenance strategy.
- Responsible for overall Process Safety Management including Process Hazards Analyses and Management of Change procedures.
- Responsible for site wide environmental compliance including air permit, storm water, hazardous waste management, aboveground storage tanks, etc. Provide required training of employees in these areas.
- Plan and participate in the budgeting process for maintenance and capital projects. Manage small projects
- Provide technical expertise for capital projects, maintenance activities and production operations. Responsible for selection of best-suited process equipment during upgrades or replacement projects.
- Ensure accurate documentation of manufacturing operations including procedures, P&IDs, JSAs equipment data and other related items.
- Support ISO Programs on site (50001, 9001, 14001).
- Identify site wide opportunities for improvement including cost reduction, process optimization, waste minimization, etc. Provide expertise during root cause analysis in case of production problems or incidents. Make proposals for problem solving and implement the proposals in coordination with production team.
- Assist in the management of spare parts inventory to minimize production downtime while controlling the overall cost of inventory and make recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct bids with Procurement to identify, select and manage external resources best suited to perform the required work. Ensure quality work is completed in a timely and safe manner by supervising contract workforce and performing housekeeping and safety inspections.
- Assist with training and development of hourly employees and other staff including production operators and maintenance personnel. May need to act as supervisor during periods of absence of regular supervisors.
- Support pilot plant scale experiments and trials. Assist in identifying concerns which could hinder scale up to production quantities
- Provide input for long range objectives related to manufacturing operations, capital spending, maintenance activities, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
5 years chemical manufacturing experience desired
