OBJECTIVES
- Establishment of a CM Practice: The Senior Construction Manager will be instrumental in setting up the Construction Management practice in North America. This includes developing processes, best practices, and standards that align with our organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
- Strategic Staffing: This role will also involve recruiting and building a competent team of construction professionals. By staffing appropriately, we can enhance our project delivery capabilities and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Risk Management and Compliance: A dedicated Senior Construction Manager will ensure that all projects adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards, reducing risks and enhancing compliance.
- Improved Stakeholder Communication: With a Senior Construction Manager in place, we will improve communication and coordination among stakeholders, leading to more cohesive project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
- This position will report to the Head of Project Engineering, NA.
- Manage and deliver required service levels for a portfolio of facilities and capital projects
- The CM will establish a engineering for construction mentality in Evonik's capital programs and will fully participate in establishing constructable projects in early front end stages, and a reasonable construction plan to validate project schedules.
- Build an organization of construction managers deployable to projects across the region.
- Establish work policies and procedures for the the North American Construction Manager group
- Aid Project Management to develop project execution plans and schedules.
- Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and establishing a construction management organization prioritizing safety, agility, competency and ownership.
- Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives to meet objectives set by Project Management
- Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
- Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.
- Applies expertise to act as the organizational authority on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
- Acts with expertise as the organization's authority on using clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.
- Applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on creating relevant, lucid and effective reports.
- Demonstrated Experience in writing site procedures and enterprise construction policies.
- University Degree in Engineering, Construction Management / Sciences
- General Contractor's license is preferred
