Summary

As a Civil CAD Technician, you're the digital architect behind our engineering projects. Your proficiency in CAD tools brings blueprints to life and ensures precise, detailed plans. Join our team and play a pivotal role in transforming concepts into tangible structures that shape our future.

The position is located in Eden Prairie, MN. Hybrid or remote location considered.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Provide civil construction document production support
• Coordinate with various design team disciplines including civil engineers, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and surveyors
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create construction plan sets and perform quantity takeoffs. Construction documents will typically include site layouts, grading and drainage plans, erosion and sedimentation plans, hydrology exhibits and construction details
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of EVS design/CAD standards and provide input for improvement
• Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the civil design and production processes
  
  

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Technical School Certificate in Civil Engineering Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree is desired but not required
• 2-5 years of drafting/design experience in the areas of civil and development, grading, stormwater and drainage, road design, etc
• 1 years of experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading (feature lines, grading objects, and the grading optimization tool), data shortcuts, alignments, corridors, surfaces, and use of x-refs
• Experience and knowledge of basic civil site design concepts
• Working knowledge of and ability to read construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Must be a supportive team member, with the ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment
• Self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Be willing to learn new skills and enhance existing ones
