Business Development Associate

Position Overview : The Business Development Coordinator at EVS, Inc. will play a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, Solar Developers and EPC contractors. This position requires a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented individual who will help develop and maintain systems to streamline business development activities while fostering strong relationships with both current and potential clients.

This role is open for internal promotion / lateral moves or external hiring, depending on the candidate's fit.

Key Responsibilities :

Opportunity Development :

Identify and engage new opportunities with utilities, municipalities, and cooperatives.

Assist in building EVS's presence in new markets by "getting a foot in the door" and facilitating connections with technical stakeholders.

Collaborate with department leads to identify areas of need and pursue specific opportunities in Survey, Geotech, Hydrology, and Substation markets, as applicable.

Business Development Systems :

Develop and implement a business development (BD) tracking system to monitor ongoing and future opportunities.

Lead the creation of a CRM platform tailored to EVS's needs, ensuring seamless tracking of client interactions and project opportunities.

Client Engagement :

Manage follow-ups with utilities, including completing forms and maintaining contact with administrative teams until technical connections are established.

Assist the VP of Renewable Energy and Director of Client Management with client outreach, including drafting and refining email communications.

Marketing Collaboration :

Work with the marketing team to ensure the Solar / BESS / Substation project tracker, website, and Statements of Qualification (SOQs) remain up-to-date and reflect EVS's capabilities and accomplishments.

Partner with marketing on a stretch assignment to develop a "Net Promoter Score" system for EVS clients, gathering insights to improve client satisfaction and loyalty.

Client Identification & Outreach :

Research and identify prospective clients to target for business development initiatives.

Prepare outreach materials and strategies to effectively communicate EVS's value proposition to potential clients.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in business development, client engagement, or a related role in the engineering or renewable energy industry preferred.

Strong organizational skills with experience in implementing tracking systems or CRM platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling client outreach materials.

Familiarity with the renewable energy market, particularly Solar, BESS, and Substation projects, is a plus.

Proactive and resourceful with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives.

Reporting Structure : The Business Development Coordinator will report to the Director of Client Management and Innovation, with close collaboration with the VP of Renewable Energy and the marketing team.

Location & Travel : This role is based in Eden Prairie, MN, with flexibility for hybrid work per company policies. Occasional travel may be required for client meetings or conferences.
