Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Administrative Director to oversee the operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare and early childhood education as well as strong administrative ability to manage the day-to-day business, financial and to some extent, educational functions of our center.
Responsibilities
- Partner with parents to provide the best care and education for their children.
- Cultivate relationships with families, teachers and community partners.
- Maintain accurate records to achieve center compliance for licensing. This includes compliance with fire regulations, building safety issues as well as the children's individual files and staff personnel, health and training documentation.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll for staff.
- Collect tuition payments and enter them onto our accounting system.
- Keep track of payments and make sure families make payments on a timely basis.
- Prepare deposits of tuition payments and agency payments and submit them to the financial services manager for banking.
- Enter payments from the state subsidy program onto our accounting system.
- Prepare weekly sign in/sign out sheets, monthly attendance and meal count paperwork for each classroom.
- Periodically check supply inventory for cleaning, food service and classroom supplies and order when necessary.
- Oversee and administer the summer camp program which runs for 9 weeks between June and August.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in a childcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Ability to have positive, professional interactions with parents, staff and other community partners.
- A Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field such as psychology, nursing or other child development related discipline as well as some business credits. In absence of a college degree, there are other acceptable combinations of education including the Child Development Associate (CDA) and work experience.
