Principal Counsel, Employment
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Counsel to provide broad legal support to our global employment and benefits legal team.
This role will focus on providing day-to-day legal guidance on U.S. employment law topics, including leaves of absence, discrimination, restrictive covenants, fair employment investigations, wage and hour, and reductions in force.
The successful candidate will also provide U.S. legal support on global initiatives, policies, and procedures, and manage employment litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide stakeholders with an understanding of legal obligations and risks to inform their decisions.
- Engage, direct, and supervise outside counsel in response to administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and general employment law questions.
- Monitor employment law requirements and new developments, identifying areas for legal focus.
- Draft and/or review employment policies, agreements, and communications.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school.
- 6 years of experience practicing employment law in private practice or in a corporate legal department (preferably both).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
