JOB SUMMARY:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is an extension of the HR Department and is responsible for sourcing, recruiting and tracking of talent for all areas of Excell Brands as directed by the Talent Acquisition Manager. The Talent Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for seeking out quality candidates, evaluating and confirming their qualifications and recommending them for placement if fitting in open roles at the company. Duties will include researching job seekers and inviting them to apply to job postings, screening candidates through phone and online interviews and tracking applicant progress in Excell’s tracking systems. This will be a hybrid remote position - will come to office one day a week for meetings as well as for company events as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager.

- Responsible for ensuring job descriptions are current and accurately reflect the job by performing job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
- Partners closely with hiring leaders to understand talent needs for proficient recruiting
- Sources and recruits candidates through various internal and external sources and databases which may include social media, online tools, industry relationships and community involvement to identify top talent. May participate and/or coordinate Career and Job Fairs as necessary
- Ensures all external candidates are reviewed and contacted (if qualified) within 1-2 business days of receiving applications and resumes.
- Conducts initial interviews and prescreens using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule and make recommendations to hiring managers.
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes.
- Monitors and applies HR recruiting best practices.
- Provides analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team.
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process and coordinate pre-employment and hiring activities with HR Support Specialist.
- Participates in HR L10 meetings and attends meetings, seminars and company events as required.
- Monitors all assigned job postings and applications within our applicant tracking system and maintains records for all candidates and their status within the system.

- Creates a pipeline of qualified candidates for open and future positions within the company
- Reduces lag time from application to contact
- Reduces dependency on external agencies and fees
- Reduces hiring process time to attract and retain qualified candidates
- Works within HR Budget for recruiting activities and needs

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of related work experience.
- Good research techniques and interviewing skills are required to source talent, interview and to select and present the best candidate to the hiring manager
- Outstanding communication skills both written and spoken. Must be able to lead and guide a conversation and interview.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to operate with a sense of urgency and learn quickly.
- Must be able to work with people at all levels and possess the ability to consult and influence others
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to understanding business needs and achieving Talent Acquisition objectives
- Working knowledge of company benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick time, vacation time and leaves of absence
- Previous experience with Talent Acquisition technologies such as applicant tracking systems (ATS) and video interviewing required; experience with ADP and ADP Recruitment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of federal, state, and city (local) employment laws and regulations
- Proven experience working with confidential information while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Professional administrative writing and reporting skills
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills are required

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: Effective talking, hearing, sitting, walking, and standing functions. Frequent repetitive motion activities are required. Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to hot and cold temperatures. May be a hybrid work environment.
