Job Description: Senior SAP OS/DB Migration Onsite Architect to Azure
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP OS/DB Migration Architect-Onsite to lead and execute SAP OS/DB migrations to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP migrations, cloud architecture, and Azure infrastructure, with a strong focus on designing and implementing end-to-end SAP migration strategies. The role requires onsite presence at the client location to collaborate with stakeholders and ensure a seamless migration.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP Migration & Architecture:
- Lead and execute SAP OS/DB migrations from on-premise to Azure.
- Develop and implement migration strategies for SAP systems, including SAP ECC, DWM, SCM, SRM, PI, Solution Manager, and other SAP components.
- Perform SAP homogeneous system migrations using Oracle DB native tools like RMAN etc. and SAP tools like SWPM.
- Conduct assessments, sizing, and capacity planning for SAP workloads on Azure.
- Optimize SAP performance and availability post-migration.
Azure Cloud Expertise:
- Architect and design SAP on Azure landscapes, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Ensure SAP on Azure follows best practices for security, compliance, and cost optimization.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with Offshore SAP Basis, DBAs, infrastructure teams, and Azure architects to ensure smooth migration and system stability.
- Engage with business and IT stakeholders to define migration roadmaps, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior consultants.
- Troubleshoot migration-related issues and provide expert recommendations.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare detailed migration plans, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Ensure migrations align with SAP, Microsoft, and industry best practices.
- Conduct post-migration validation, testing, and performance tuning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with SAP Homogeneous system migrations (RHEL to Oracle Linux) for Oracle and MaxDB databases.
- Expertise in SAP and Oracle migration tools
- Good understanding of Azure cloud technologies, including Azure VM Sizing for SAP Azure Migrate, and SAP on Azure Reference Architectures.
- Strong knowledge of databases (Oracle, MaxDB) and OS platforms (Linux, Windows).
Soft Skills & Certifications:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work in onsite client environments with minimal supervision.
- SAP Certified Technology Associate OS/DB Migration for SAP NetWeaver (preferred).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure for SAP Workloads Specialty (preferred).
